New publication in the Journal of Biomechanics
Recent MHE Lab research published in the Journal of Biomechanics.
Our recent research exploring the repeatibility of scapular kinematics durning the novel Work-Related Activities and Functional Task protocol has been published! See the article in the latest Journal of Biomechanics here: https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S0021929023001653?dgcid=author
This novel protocol features a standardized collection of functionally-relevant tasks that encompasses all the different directions that the arm can move. Activities of daily living (Comb Hair, Wash Axilla, Tie Apron) and work-related tasks (Overhead Reach, Side Reach, Forward Transfer, Floor Lift, and Overhead Lift) are included. Repeatibility is acceptable for the tasks with elevation as their primary movement, but work is needed for the non-elevation-based tasks. Future research will apply different methods to improve utility of the WRAFT.
