Whole Body Vibration in Bus Drivers

Our colleagues in the US have reported some interesting results on whole body vibration in bus drivers, check it out!

Researchers from the US compared the whole body vibration exposure level on two different types of buses (the high-floor bus and the low-floor bus) driving on four different road types (newer smooth freeway, rough older freeway, city streets, and roads with speed bumps), based on the ISO 2631-1 and 2631-5 standards. In general, vibrations were found lower while driving on freeways and city streets. On roads with speed bumps, the high-floor buses had higher vibrations compared to the low-floor ones.  Read more about the study summary for professionals on the NISOH blog.
