Welcome to the OBGYN Research Group

The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology (OBGYN) is committed to supporting research at the University of Saskatchewan. A robust research program promotes curiosity, elevates academic performance, and enhances our quality of care. We have researchers proficient in both biomedical and clinical study. In recent years we have grown our capacity with the addition of new physician researchers. Through their grants, they are collaborating with other departments and exploring opportunities to improve care provision to the people of Saskatchewan. Medical learners participate in many of these projects, enhancing their medical research literacy.

Quality improvement remains a central focus of many projects in our department. The indigenous population in Saskatchewan experiences significant disparities in health outcomes, rooted in deeply-entrenched systemic racism. One of the pillars of our strategic plan is to address inequities and improve upon Indigenous health and healthcare. In order to do this, we aim to facilitate the development of Indigenous health-focused, community-based research projects. We can and must do better together.
