Dr. Jada Renee Koushik earned her PhD from the University of Saskatchewan's School of Environment and Sustainability in 2022, where her research explored the complex interplay between sense of place and sustainability education policy and practice. Her scholarly work is dedicated to examining the dynamics of intersectionality and sustainability within K-12 education. Jada is a committed educator, researcher, advocate, and mother, deeply invested in amplifying the voices of historically marginalized communities.
Following her doctoral studies, Jada undertook a postdoctoral fellowship in anti-racism and anti-oppression at Wilfrid Laurier University's Faculty of Social Work. Currently, she holds the position of Supervisor of Quality Improvement and Evaluation at Family and Children's Services of the Waterloo Region. In this capacity, Jada leverages her expertise in intersectionality and anti-racist practices to enhance programs and services, ensuring they uphold the highest standards of equity and effectiveness for children and families across the Kitchener-Waterloo Region.
