Sandra attends Emergency Management Forum for First Nations
The Emergency Management Forum for First Nations communities took place in Saskatoon from February 27th to March 1st, 2018.
The event served as an opportunity to learn from local communities on how to adapt to climate hazards (e.g., wildfires), and social emergencies (e.g., mental health and related issues).
At the forum, Sandra shared a factsheet on First Nation’s approach to respond to a climate hazard based on her research. The forum was reflective of a growing trend among First Nations communities to create and lead their own emergencies responses.
