Michaela’s research focuses on how social dimensions may be effectively incorporated into climate change adaptation processes within resource-based communities in Canada. She is interested in improving existing tools that guide the development of climate change adaptation plans by increasing their sensitivity to locally-relevant social dimensions, such as gender and Indigeneity. Her research aims to help resource-based communities increase their capacity to adapt to a changing climate inclusively by emphasizing attentiveness to social dimensions and dynamics within adaptation processes.
