Shafi's research is focused on developing carbon-based catalysts for catalytic ozonation of water pollutants. He obtained his BSc. in Chemical Engineering from Shahjalal University of Science and Technology, Bangladesh in 2009. Afterward, he worked for industries for four years. He joined the Soltan research group in September 2017.
