About the Community Energy Development Lab
We explore the intersections of energy, sustainability, climate change, and community well-being, with a focus on Northern, remote, and Indigenous communities. Through interdisciplinary and community-engaged research, the lab examines how communities navigate environmental change, energy transitions, and sustainable development.
Research Areas
We study how remote, Northern, and Indigenous communities experience energy transitions, the economic benefits they capture, the institutional frictions they navigate, and the cultural, behavioural and environmental terms on which their futures are built.
