Agronomic Crop Imaging

Sarah is a PhD student in the Agronomic Crop Imaging Lab. Her research focuses on identifying drivers and variables that contribute to the wide-scale spatial variability of spring wheat yields in North America. This research is important in terms of global food security and ensuring adequate food supplies are available and distributed to regions that have short supply. Sarah has an undergraduate degree in agriculture from the University of Guelph with a minor in GIS and environmental analysis and a Master’s degree from the University of Saskatchewan in predictive modeling of crop physiology. Her background in GIS and remote sensing is what first attracted her to the ACI lab, as well as being able to combine both of her interests of agriculture and image analysis. Outside of the lab, Sarah loves to be outdoors, hiking, biking, and camping with her husband, daughter, and twin boys.
