Haskap Days 2025 Gather Haskap Enthusiasts at USask

Over 40 people passionate about haskap attended Haskap Days 2025, hosted by the University of Saskatchewan’s Fruit Program.

The two-day event celebrated haskap research, innovation, and community learning. Haskap School, held on July 17, featured engaging lectures on haskap biology, breeding, postharvest work and marketing. Presentations by Dr. Bob Bors, Dr. Anže Švara, and several other experts offered valuable insights into the latest research and industry practices. On July 18, the Haskap Research Tour took participants to the Horticulture Research Field, where they explored one of the world’s most diverse haskap collections. Attendees tasted berries, observed breeding trials, and watched equipment demonstrations. A lunch and discussions wrapped up the day.

We extend a heartfelt thank you to all participants, speakers, and experts who made this event a success. Your enthusiasm and contributions are what make Haskap Days so special.

Stay tuned for upcoming events, which will be posted on the Extension tab of the USask Fruit Program website. The next event will be Budding and Grafting workshop on Friday, August 8, which will be part of Hortdays 2025. Register here:
