USask Fruit Program expands its team

USask Fruit Program Recruited Four Students

Four students were recently welcomed at the USask Fruit Program this spring, including two MSc students Eileen van Heerde and Sumi Sarkar, as well as the two summer students Fikret Ukis and Tanner Johnson.

Eileen and Tanner are focusing on studying and characterizing haskap germplasm to improve our insights into agronomic traits such as fruit firmness and adaptation to Prairie environment.

Sumi and Fikret are researching Amelanchier germplasm to streamline breeding of saskatoon berry varieties. The program wishes the students all the best in their research discoveries.
