March 2024
Our laboratory and our science has benefited from the diversity of our team members! We have enjoyed the contributions of trainees from 20 countries on six continents (Antarctica might be difficult), with degrees in chemistry, materials science, pharmaceutical science, biochemistry, and physics. We welcome all qualified, curious students with an interest in organic chemistry and enzymology, regardless of race, religion, age, gender, sexual orientation or physical ability.

Do you have a strong background in organic chemistry and a keen interest in enzymes? Maybe vice-versa? We recruit on an ongoing basis, within the constraints of space and funding. You can work with a diverse team in an inclusive, safe environment, with a project that meets the goals of the research program, the funding agency, and you.
If you are interested in joining our team, please contact Dr. Palmer directly.
- If you are an undergraduate interested in for-credit research courses or paid summer research positions, you can learn more about opportunities from the Department of Chemistry website here.
- If you are a Canadian student (a citizen or Permanent resident of Canada) interested in graduate studies, you are eligible to join the laboratory as a Master of Science or direct-entry PhD student.
- If you are an international student, you can be considered for the PhD program if you have completed a Master's degree in Chemistry. Learn more about our program requirements and application procedures here.
- Postdoctoral positions are normally advertised when available, and policies are found here.
