The Department of Geological Sciences has a variety of analytical equipment, particularly for geochemistry: http://artsandscience.usask.ca/geology/research/facilities.php.

The Saskatchewan Isotope Laboratory, hosted in the Department of Geological Sciences, has capabilities for traditional gas isotope ratio mass spectrometry, in addition to thermal ionisation mass spectrometry (TIMS- model, Triton), multi-collector inductively coupled mass spectrometry (MC-ICPMS- model, Neptune), and an ultraclean laboratory. Routine isotopic analyses include H, C, O and/or N; Rb-Sr, Sm-Nd, Pb-Pb, Cr, Ca, and the U-series. Other techniques can be developed as needed.

The Precambrian Earth evolution and tectonics lab also has a Fabric Analyzer G60 (upgraded in 2016). The G60 is essentially an automated universal stage, capable of determining quartz preferred c-axis orientations for microstructural analysis.
