Biography

Jim

Junpeng Zhan received the B.Eng. and the Ph.D. degrees both in electrical engineering from Zhejiang University, Hangzhou, China in 2009 and 2014, respectively.

He is currently a Postdoctoral Fellow in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, University of Saskatchewan, Saskatoon, SK, Canada since March 2015. He was a Postdoctoral Fellow in The Hong Kong Polytechnic University in 2014. He was a Visiting Research Assistant in University of Liverpool in 2012 and 2013.

From 2008 to 2014, he participated in several government and utility sponsored projects, such as the National High Technology Research and Development 863 Program of China, the National Basic Research Program 973 Program of China, and projects funded by the Guangdong Power Grid Co., Ltd. and the Guangdong Yudean Group Co., Ltd., etc. His research experiences engaged in these projects covered the generation dispatch, maintenance scheduling, wind power integration and load forecast. His current research interest includes the integration of the dynamic thermal rating and renewable electric energy sources in power system operation and planning.

He is the author or co-author of 11 peer-review journal papers and 3 patents. He is a reviewer of IEEE Transactions on Power Systems, IEEE Transactions on Sustainable Energy, IET Generation, Transmission & Distribution, Electric Power Components and Systems, International Journal of Electrical Power and Energy Systems, etc.
