Dr. Saman Razavi PhD
Associate ProfessorDr. Saman Razavi is an Associate Professor of hydrology and water resources at the School of Environment and Sustainability and the Department of Civil, Geological, and Environmental Engineering at the University of Saskatchewan. He is also an Honorary Associate Professor at the Institute for Water Futures, Australian National University. He received his Ph.D. in civil engineering from the University of Waterloo in 2013. Dr. Razavi’s research and practice lie at the science-policy interface, bridging hydrological modelling and the prediction of floods and droughts with integrated water resources management and decision making. He is also an expert in systems and data sciences, sensitivity and uncertainty analysis, and machine learning. Dr. Razavi has taught extensively at the undergraduate and graduate levels, covering courses from basic to advanced hydrology and water resources systems analysis and management. He has received several awards, including the 2024 Walter L. Huber Civil Engineering Research Prize from the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE), and currently serves as an editor for the journal Environmental Modelling & Software.
