Hridaynath Bhattacharjee showing his Taube Metal (Summer 2020) The Taube Metal is awarded for the best Ph.D. thesis in the Department of Chemistry in given year. Jens Müller talks about Henry Taube (Nobel Prize 1983) In September 2013, the Department of Chemistry celebrated 100 years of Chemistry Graduates at the U of S. One part of the celebration was a display of Henry Taube's Noble Prize metal, other awards, and pictures. J. Müller addressed the question "Why has Henry Taube been awarded the Nobel Prize?" (see picture). Henry Taube, who is the most famous graduate of the U of S, obtained his B.Sc. (1935) and his M.Sc. degree (1937 with Prof. Spinks) at our university.
