Innovation Speaker Series (GE490.1)

Who Is It For?

The course is designed for any one who wish to learn about innovation. The past students include first year students who are exploring their academic interest and career planning to senior undergraduate students and graduate students who wish to explore the topic of innovation and entrepreneurship.

About

Innovation Speaker Series is a seminar course featuring distinguished guest speakers. The guest speakers will present on tech innovation, most often in a Saskatchewan context, but not exclusively. The goal of the course is to inspire would-be tech innovators and to provide them with wisdom and knowledge to help them in their journey.

The course is offered as a one credit course. You will meet ten practicing engineers or entrepreneurs throughout the course. By the end of the class, you will be asked to reflect on your learning by submitting a two page essay.

How is This Course Taught?

The fall term offering of the course focuses on the strategic considerations of Technological Innovation Management. It is collaborated with GE450.3 – Technological Innovation Management.

The winter term offering of the course focuses on the developing and building technological innovative solutions and businesses. It is in collaboration with GE495.6 – Technological Innovation Design Capstone and GE496.3 – Technological Innovation Design Project.

More Information

  • This course is part of the Certification program for Technological Innovation Certificate. This certificate prepares technical focused individuals to think innovatively about their career planning, and to develop essential skills to be successful in their engineering leadership or entrepreneurship journey.
  • Students could use this course to prepare and build skills for entrepreneurship opportunities such as USask SIGMA, Co.Launch and many more.
