UNESCO Chair in Biocultural Diversity, Sustainability, Reconciliation, and Renewal
Mackenzie is a Master of Environment and Sustainability student who is co-supervised by Dr. Maureen Reed and Dr. Katherine Stewart. Her research focuses on collaborative restoration involving Indigenous and industry partners in the Western boreal forest of Canada as part of the Developing Eco-Restoration Together (DERT) project. Through interviews, Mackenzie aims to define and characterize what restoration means to industry and Indigenous partners, examine their views on the effectiveness of collaborative restoration, and co-produce recommendations.
