Beckman Avanti J-E Centrifuge

The Beckman Avanti J-E Refrigerated Centrifuge has the following rotors:

JA-17            (50 mL tubes; Max Speed 17,000 rpm)

JLA-10.500   (6 buckets/lids for 500 mL bottles; Max Speed 10,000 rpm)

This instrument is located in B247. **Please note that use of this instrument may be restricted to minimize disruption to the teaching labs.**

Biorad Chemidoc Imaging System

The Biorad ChemiDoc Digital Imaging System can capture chemiluminescent, UV and visible images for printing or analysis using Biorad ImageLab Software. A printer is available to print images and a USB stick is suggested to transport files to other locations for analysis.

Biotek EL808 Microplate Reader

The Biotek EL808 microplate absorbance reader (Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine) is paired with Gene 5 controlling and data analysis software. The EL808 fits standard 96-well plates, and has a filter wheel containing 4 standard filters.

Zeiss Axioscop 20 fluorescent microscope with digital camera

The Zeiss Axioscope 20 microscope has an HB100 AttoArc fluorescent light source, standard fluorescent filters and 2.5X, 10X, 20X, 40X and 100X objectives (Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine). Please note that only the 100X lens is immersion oil compatible. A Canon 5 MP digital camera will be added for image capture soon.

This instrument is located in B250.1. All use of the fluorescent light source must be logged. Student teaching lab use of this microscope has priority.
