What We Do

The Health Sciences D-Wing Research facility is creating a new standard for interprofessional education, research and practice in the health sciences. Our state-of-the-art, integrated facility supports and enables collaboration between students, faculty and researchers across the health disciplines and will help us to educate health professionals using a team-centered approach. We are the largest capital building project in the university's history and an investment in the future of health education and practice in Saskatchewan and beyond. The innovative new facility offers a highly integrated experience for students in all health care fields.

Through blending multi-disciplinary groups, our laboratories explore new research endeavors to advance health science research, locally and globally, through excellence in interprofessional education and research. The second floor research clusters include the Biomedical and Environmental Research Cluster, located in 2D10 and B253/B204 and the Metabolic, Cardiovascular and Respiratory (MCAR) Cluster  located in 2D40.

Strength in Diversity

The second floor research clusters contain researchers from a very broad spectrum of research areas. There is a blend of techniques and research foci among our members and we are always looking for collaborative projects with other researchers.

With a mix of researchers from the Canadian Centre for Health and Safety in Agriculture (CCHSA), and the Departments of Anatomy and Cell Biology, Agriculture and Bioresources, Biochemistry, Dentistry, Medicine, Microbiology and Immunology, Pathology and Laboratory Medicine, Pharmacology, Pharmacy and Nutrition, Physiology and Public Health. In addition to our diverse faculty we have a wide array of technical equipment  available, including the Core Mass Specrometry facility, and a collection of HPLCs, digital drop PCR and real time PCR machines available for collaborative research with other clusters.
