The Johnson Shoyama Graduate School of Public Policy (JSGS) at the University of Saskatchewan welcomes prospective Master of Public Policy (thesis-based) and PhD in Public Policy students interested in Métis governance and public policy.

Students can pursue research alongside Dr. Kurtis Boyer, Chair in Métis Governance and Policy, exploring questions that matter to Métis governance, public administration, and public policy.

Potential research areas include:

• Métis governance, self-government, and democratic institutions
• Indigenous public administration, policy implementation, and service delivery
• Intergovernmental relations involving Métis governments
• Indigenous data governance and research ethics
• Fiscal relations and governance capacity
• Community-engaged research and collaborative policymaking

Through graduate study, Métis governance teaching, and research engagement, students can develop the knowledge and skills to contribute to policy development and the work of Métis governments.

We welcome inquiries from researchers interested in postdoctoral work on Métis governance and public policy. Specific positions and application details will be posted here as they become available.
