CLS beamtime
SAXS measurements at the Canadian Light Source
At the end of June we managed to get some time to use the Small-angle X-ray scattering (SAXS) experiment on the Low Energy Wiggler beamline (7 - 22 keV) at the Canadian Light Source (CLS). This is a good paragraph for all the acronym lovers out there! For more information about the SAXS technique at the CLS, see here.
Here are a few photos from the day!
Sandra and I have different reactions to the 8 am experiment start time!
Hibah, I, Tanish (flanked by the beamline scientist and his summer student), and Ozra all stare intently at the computers controlling the experiment.
Ozra and I make sure that we're running the experiment correctly.
This is a short video showing the sample holder (with our samples contained in small capillary tubes) being lowered into the X-ray beam.
Near the end of the day, we proudly show off our CLS access cards! Now all we need to work out is how to analyse our data. Fun times ahead!!
