Undergrad research presentations
Our undergrads wrapped up their projects with research talks
It's been a great academic year! The undergrads we've had to pleasure to host in our lab have wrapped up their year-long research projects by giving excellent talks to the Chemistry Department.
Sandra had a tough time as different machines/setups in our lab broke down or needed some serious re-aligning AND the Canadian Light Source has been without a beam for most of the year. She perservered, however, and had some nice photophysics of different porphyrins to show!
Thomas had a much easier time getting results, but interpreting them was a bit tricky. Our group hasn't done a lot with thin films and this project was on new samples, so we didn't know what to expect! Thomas measured some really nice spectra and his results are so promising that the project will be continued by a summer undergrad student.
We've had a blast working with you both and we wish you luck with your future careers!
