Food glorious food!
We had the biggest group dinner yet!
On August 8th, we went en masse to an Indian restaurant to celebrate a great year and bid farewell to our longtime research student, Sandra. She is joining the MSc program in UBC and we will miss her dearly!
A special thank you goes to Jaydeep and Darshi -- they chose the restaurant and organized the card/present/cake surpise for Sandra!
Apart from fond farewells (and cake), we had lots of great conversation and biryani! We also tried pani puri, which is one Indian dish most of us have not tried before. It got a mixed reception! I found it strangely addictive and ate waaay too many!
A great time was had by all and it was a super way to spend an evening!
