Ozra has passed her PhD defense!!!
My co-first PhD student is now a doctor!
Ozra passed like a total pro! This time we were lucky enough to have the external examiner, Danielle Tokarz from St. Mary's University, in attendance at USask.
I'm really proud of her wonderful achievement and her smooth defense performance! We had cake and balloons in the group office afterwards (thank you to the group for organizing all of that!) and some sparkling fruity drinks!
If that wasn't enough, Ozra took Danielle for a tour of the CLS in the afternoon and we finished off the day with a dinner at Keo's Kitchen (Thai food ... mmmmmm!).
Here are some of the (many) photos that we took that day:
Post-defense photo with all of Ozra's examining committee (Lee Wilson, Dave Palmer, Matt Paige, Ozra, Amy, Danielle Tokarz, Ildiko Badea, and Rob Scott)!
My first students have a long chat - Darshi, Ozra, and Stephen!
The group celebrates with Ozra and her husband! Sat is trying to take Ozra's selfie-Queen crown!
