CSC 2026
Hot town, summer in the city, back of my poster gettin' dirty and gritty ....
If you don't know where that subtitle came from, then have a look here.
This year the CSC was held in Toronto (May 24th - 28th) in the the Metro Convention Centre. The main exhibit halls were massive ... it felt like we were in a very fancy aircraft hanger!
My students gave excellent talks or posters on DNA origami, olympicenes, or thin films of pyrene derivatives. We also chatted with our collaborators and plenty of other people. All-in-all it was a 'good job done'! Here are some photos:

Here's Stephen's excellent poster on Monday evening (May 24th). I've never seen someone so excited to discuss a poster with anyone who happened to pass by!

Wenlong opened the TAPAS – Techniques, Advances, and Problems in Analytical Spectroscopy symposium with a talk on olympicenes at 8 am on Monday. This was the second year in a row that he had a very early talk right at the start of the conference!

I followed up with more of a retrospective-type talk at 9 am.

Here are Stephen, Wenlong, and I with our URegina collaborator Marc MacKinnon. We've just demolished a tasty pasta lunch!

Here are the presenters and organizers (Marek Majewski (Concordia), Dave Herbert (Manitoba), and me) of the Photochemistry and Photophysics of Coordination Complexes: From Fundamentals to Applications symposium. It was a great symposium and I learned a lot! Once again, we thank our great sponsors!

On the last night of the CSC, the Stevens group had a home-cooked Chinese meal at Wenlong's apartment. It was super tasty and really fun!
