Over 400 scientists attended the meeting and 74 posters were presented, of which 24 entered the student competition. Robert won a cash prize and the opportunity to present a talk at the users’ meeting. His talk was considered outstanding by the audience and according to meeting chair, David Osborn, we “should be justly proud of the job Robert did in representing his research group, the University of Saskatchewan, and himself." Robert's poster was entitled "Configuration of Dopant Sites in Spintronics Materials," and focused on his spectroscopic studies of new magnetic semiconductors useful for spintronics applications.
