Research Participants
Inclusion Criteria:
- Ambulatory resident in an independent living/retirement community.
Exclusion Criteria:
- Use an assistive device for mobility
- Individual is participates in >150 minute of moderate-vigorous physical activity per week
- Has been diagnosed with Parkinson's disease
The pole walking intervention includes three pole walking sessions per week over three months, which will take place in your retirement community.
Measurements include bone densitometry, mobility, and postural measures at the College of Kinesiology labs at the University of Saskatchewan. These measurements will be taken at the start and end of the three month period.
