Our summer undergrad student research assistants have arrived

Let's dive into some research!!

Welcome to the group Hibah and Angie, and welcome back Sandra! Sandra joins us for a second summer, while Hibah joins us from outside the Chemistry Department at USask and Angie has travelled all the way from her Colombia!

Hibah is currently working on FRET studies of pairs of cyanine dyes but is also folding triangular DNA and will be joining us at the CLS for some SAXS measurements!

Angie is going to fold our first 3D DNA origami structure! We would love to also make it dynamic, so that it can react to solution conditions.

Sandra is going to get our flash photolysis transient absorption setup up and running. We've already dismantled the pump laser, so we're well on the way to diagnosing the first problem that the system has!

I'm so happy that you've all joined the group and I hope our summer together is full of fun, good weather, and some nice scientific challenges! For more information, please see here.
