Background

Samy is a Master of Public Health-Thesis student at the School of Public Health of University of Saskatchewan. His masters project revolves around determining the bioequivalence of therapeutic foods in El Salvador for outpatient treatment malnutrition in children and pregnant women. He completed his Bachelor of Science in Plant Biology from the University of Calgary in 2021. In his time performing his undergraduate degree, he assisted on a research project to identify areas of attention within plant genomes to improve crop yields. As a result, much of Samy’s research interests involve food insecurity and population health.
