Menu Planning Learning Module

The Menu Planning Learning Module was developed for Early Learning Facilities (daycare centres and dayhomes) to provide knowledge necessary to plan healthy menus that meet provincial and Head Start guidelines. Although developed for Early Learning Facilities, the module can be viewed by anyone as it provides good introductory information on Canada's Food Guide, what foods belong in a food group versus those we should limit. There are practical examples on calculating food group servings, how to read the Nutrition Facts Tables, and how to promote a positive relationship with food for children.

Food and Culture Learning Module

The Food and Culture Learning Module was developed for Early Learning Facilities (daycare centres and dayhomes) to help them promote food and culture in the early learning environment to create a safe and inclusive environment for all children. Although developed for Early Learning Facilities, the module can be viewed by anyone as it provides introductory information on food from different regions around the world, including common cultural differences, therapeutic uses of food, etiquette (table manners), customs, and cultural and religious food necessities.
