Samer Al-Bazz MSc PhD Nutrition Student

Background

Samer Al-Bazz started his MSc transfer to PhD in September 2017 at the College of Pharmacy and Nutrition, University of Saskatchewan. He began his career in dietetics as a clinical nutritionist at a local hospital in Palestine from 1990-1996. He was an Instructor of Nutrition and Dietetics at United Arab Emirates University, UAE from 2003-2010 and a senior lecturer at Fatima College of Health Sciences, UAE from 2011-2013. Samer holds a Master’s degree in Human Nutrition from University of Ulster, UK. He completed the Internationally Educated Dietetians Pre-registration Program (IDPP) at Ryerson University, Toronto. He also obtained an Ontario College Graduate Certificate in College Teachers Training for Internationally Educated Professionals-Postgraduate Program at George Brown College, Toronto. Samer was a Registered Dietitian with the College of Dietitians of Ontario from August 2015-September 2017. He worked as a Dietitian and Health Educator at DoctorCare Inc. in Toronto from February-August 2016. His project focuses on The impact of resettlement and social policy on the food security of the Syrian refugees resettled in Canada since 2015.
