Background

Mojtaba is a postdoctoral fellow and sessional lecturer at the College of Pharmacy and Nutrition, University of Saskatchewan. Previously, he served as the lab manager for Dr. Vatanparast’s Nutritional Epidemiology Lab (VNEL) at the College from November 2021 to April 2024. Mojtaba earned his Master’s degree in Human Nutrition from Mashhad University of Medical Sciences in 2017, where he contributed to significant research projects, including the Mashhad Stroke and Heart Atherosclerotic Disorder (MASHAD) study. In October 2024, he completed his PhD in Nutrition at the University of Saskatchewan, with a research project centered on Food Security, Dietary Challenges, and Food Perceptions Among Urban Indigenous Peoples in Saskatchewan, focusing on the initial COVID-19 pandemic period and beyond. In addition to his doctoral research, Mojtaba has contributed to numerous projects within VNEL, covering topics such as nutritional epidemiology, planetary health, and milk and dairy research.
