AAAP

The American Association of Avian Pathologists (AAAP) Foundation is dedicated to the encouragement and development of talented individuals who are interested in careers in poultry health and/or food safety. Through the AAAP Foundation and it's partners, 20 schoarships are offered each year.

Avian Biosciences Travel Scholarships

The AAAP annually selects outstanding student(s) to recieve the AAAP Foundation Biosciences Travel Scholarship to attend the Annual Meeting of the American Assocition of Avian Pathologists. The purpose of the award is to familiarize students to the many aspects of poultry medicine and to facilitate their interaction with research scientistss, poultry diagnosticians and clinical poultry veterinarians to further their education and training.

L. Dwight Schwartz Travel Scholarship

The L. Dwight Schwarz Travel Scholarship enables an outstanding student(s) to attend the Annual Meeting of the Americal Association of Avian Pathologists (AAAP). The purpose of the award is to introduce veterinary students to the many aspects of poultry medicine and to facilitate their interaction with research scientists, poultry diagnosticians and clinical poultry veterinarians who would further their education and training.

Preceptorship Poultry Medicine Training Program

The AAAP Foundation annually awards preceptorships to veterinary students for the purpose of helping them defray housing, living and travel expenses incurred whie attending externships meant to expand their education, training and veterinary skills through practical experience. Preceptorships can be arranged at a variety of venues including university poutry medicine training progrmas, poultry companies and diagnostic laboratories under the auspices of their veterinary medical schools.

Riddell-Julian Canadian Poultry Scholarship

Named for two special Canadian poultry medicine pioneers and mentors - Dr. Craig Riddel of the Western College of Veterinary Medicine (WCVM) and Dr. Richard Julian from the Ontario Veterinary College (OV) - this scholarship is intended to support the education of future Canadian poultry veterinarians.
