Project Description

John (he/they) chose to study trans and gender diverse peoples’ experiences with legal name change and identity after working as a program evaluator on the Trans ID Clinic. The Clinic aimed to support trans and gender diverse people in Saskatchewan applying for their legal name and gender marker change through eHealth. Based on the Trans ID Clinic evaluation and a discussion with TransSask, John decided to focus their thesis on gathering trans and gender diverse experiences with legal name change. John hopes to support advocacy efforts to improve the application process in the province of Saskatchewan for trans and gender diverse people.

Knowledge Mobilization

John plans to hold a community conversation around the early findings from the study sometime in early 2024. John hopes that this conversation will be a place for the trans and gender diverse community to discuss and provide feedback before any findings are released. John also plans to create a summary of the results, which will be available around mid 2024. Check back here or join the mailing list to receive updates on the community conversation and the findings summary.
